The star fruit got its name because when it's split in half crosswise, the pieces look like adorable tiny stars. It has a solid, grape-like texture and is sweet, with a hint of acidity in the background. 1. Select a ripe star fruit for preparation
It will be firm to the touch, have a brilliant yellow hue, and the edges may be slightly browned if the star fruit is fully matured. The presence of occasional patches of green is OK; but, if the majority of the star fruit is green, it indicates that it is not ripe.
